Conduct History - 2016

Conduct standings related to violations of the Appalachian State Organizational Code of Conduct (see https://orgsync.com/87895/files/1535159/show) by student organizations are listed below. This report is updated at least 45 days prior to the beginning of each fall and spring academic semester, and reflects standings for instances in which allegations of violations have been completely resolved.

Self-reported violations to the FSL Policy and the National Policies in regards to social events Providing false information to a University Official, underage drinking, open party, communal alcohol, and liquor present. Fraternity sanctioned through collaborative Informal Resolution with National Office. Result: National and University Organizational Probation with specific Social Restriction through 2016 with educational programming.

Found responsible for violation of Non-Compliant Specific Probation, the Fraternity and Sorority Life Code of Conduct, and the FSL Social Policy through the FSL Conduct Board Failure to abide by Specific Probation terms. Unregistered event where alcohol was present and the event was condoned and or planned by officers of the organization. Result: Suspension with eligibility to petition return during the Fall 2017 semester.

Found responsible for violating National Policy and FSL Social Policy by the National Office underage drinking and national prevention policy violations. Result: National Probation with restriction for Risk Management through 2016 and educational programming. Notification provided to the University by the National Office.

Found responsible for violation of National Policy and FSL Social Policy by the National Office underage drinking and new member education violations. Result: National Social Probation and educational programming. Notification provided to the University by Chapter Leadership and via phone call from National Office.

Found responsible for violation of the FSL Policy and the FSL Code of Conduct through joint investigation and collaborative Informal Resolution with the National Office Vandalism, providing false information to a University Official, communal alcohol, and liquor at a fraternity event. Result: National Social Restriction through December 2016 and cost of damages.

Self-reported violations to the FSL Social Policy and National Policies in regards to social events underage drinking and an unregistered event prior to a registered event. Sorority self-sanctioned through Informal Resolution. Result: Social Probation and restriction with educational programming in conjunction with the National Office.
