Club Council

Appalachian State University boasts over 450+ clubs and organizations created by, and for students. Facilitating that process is Club Council. Club Council is the advisory board for these clubs and organizations, composed of 6 undergraduate members, a staff advisor, and a graduate assistant. The priority of the council is to support clubs and organizations as they reach their full potential.

What is Club Council?

Appalachian State University boasts over 450+ clubs and organizations created by, and for students. Facilitating that process is Club Council. Club Council is an advisory board for recognized clubs and organizations, composed of 8 undergraduate members and advisor -  Campus Activities. The priority of Club Council is to support clubs and organizations as they reach their full potential. 

The council is responsible for allocating club funding and chartering new student organizations. They have the authority to approve or deny any requests for club funding and chartering.  The council also assists with club development through workshops and creating opportunities to build stronger clubs and organizations on the campus of Appalachian State University.

The Primary Objectives of Club Council are:

• To make recommendations to the Appalachian State University administration on behalf of recognized student organizations, as well as programs and services assisting organizations.
• To encourage ongoing developmental opportunities for organizations through existing University offices, services, and resources, and to seek new opportunities.
• To allocate funds to organizations in order to assist with club expenses - within the App State University Policies.
• To review and make recommendations to Campus Activities to approve chartering of new students organizations wishing to be recognized by Campus Activities and receive benefits.
