Student Media

Student Media exists to provide instruction, guidance, and support to students at Appalachian State University to produce a bi-weekly student newspaper, The Appalachian, the student literary arts magazine, The Peel and any other student-produced publications which students successfully petition the Division of Student Development to create.  In addition, the office is charged with oversight of the production of the annual ASU Telephone Directory.

The PEEL

The PEEL Literature & Arts Review, is the on-campus student-run literary magazine. The Peel is committed to nurturing and celebrating our university's vibrant, active and creative community. We strongly believe that Appalachian students deserve an outlet to showcase their creative expression. The Peel releases an online edition at the end of the fall, while both an online and print edition are released at the end of spring semester. Click here to visit the online edition of the Peel.
